How do I protect my son from his bully of a step-father?

DEAR DEIDRE: CO-PARENTING with my ex-wife and her new husband has been a nightmare and it’s really starting to get me down.

I’m worried sick about my son and I feel so helpless living so far away from him.

He’s 12, I’m 40 and my ex-wife is 36. Our marriage ended around four years ago and it was completely amicable. 

At first, we never had any issues and always put our differences aside for the sake of our son. We wanted to make sure we did everything we could to help him with the transition.

However, two years ago everything took a turn when her new husband came along. It was clear from the start that he didn’t like my son, and ever since, my boy’s been feeling the effects.
