Siddhartha Mukherjee, the cancer specialist, is one of the most admired doctors in the world. He might go down in history as one of a tiny handful of brilliant people who helped to cure cancer. He is supremely intelligent and lives in a beautiful art-filled New York apartment with his wife, the artist Sarah Sze, and their daughters, Leela and Aria. He has been cited in Time magazine as one of the world’s 100 most influential people. Everything in his life looks perfect. Apart from the fact that he has just lived through five years of depression.
