The three hillwalkers were found dead after going missing during a trek on the Aonach Eagach Ridge in Glencoe, Scotland, over the weekend, with a multi-agency search operation launched
A hiker who is believed to have fell to his death along with two others while trekking along a dangerous ridge in Scotland has been named.
James Graham Cox, 63, and his companions – another man and woman – failed to return from the walk on the Aonach Eagach Ridge in Glencoe on Saturday (August 5).
The group was reported missing shortly after 9pm – with one of them understood to have been an experienced guide – before a rescue effort was launched and their bodies found the next day.
The multi-agency search mission involved police and RAF mountain rescue teams, as well as assistance from a coastguard helicopter. Keen adventurer Graham, who is from Southport in England, had been due to celebrate his 64th birthday the following day.
