Harrison Ford – Indiana Jones 5 not end of franchise after Disney news

When Indiana Jones 5 hits cinemas next year, it will have been 15 years since the last outing and Harrison Ford will be almost 81. At Disney D23 this year, the Hollywood legend said he was finally bowing out of his iconic role, claiming: ‘This is it, I will not fall down for you again!’ However, the latest news could confirm this isn’t quite as certain as some may have thought.According to Variety’s sources, an Indiana Jones TV series is now in the works at Disney+. This shouldn’t be too surprising given the Mouse House has a tendency to have shared universes like Marvel and Star Wars across both film and streaming shows. The outlet confirmed such a series would be set in the world of Indiana Jones, but plot details are yet to be revealed. Nevertheless, there are a couple of obvious options for where the studio could take Ford’s archaeologist based on other insider leaks. Ford himself reprised the character in one episode opening set in 1950, when he was telling a story of his time in 1920s Chicago.A reboot of Young Indy would be fantastic, although it’s always possible they could have a different actor fill in the 19 year gap between 1920-35 where little is known of the adventurer’s life.Perhaps the outgoing 80-year-old star could then take on the role of Hall as an older Indy looking back on his old adventures at the start of each episode.Indiana Jones 5 hits cinemas on June 30, 2023.SOURCE: VARIETYSOURCE: DAILY MAILSOURCE: WGTC
