Strictly Come Dancing’s Hamza Yassin had to make some difficult decisions in his early 20s to be where he is today – but he could soon be holding the Glitterball trophy because of it
He has been tipped to win Strictly Come Dancing – but would never have made it onto the show if it wasn’t for his bravery in his early 20s. Hamza Yassin has been dancing his way up the Strictly leaderboard with his energetic Salsas and Quicksteps alongside his professional partner Jowita Przystal.
The presenter and wildlife photographer credited his African heritage with his sense of rhythm – but never thought he’d be showing off his moves on national television. At aged eight, Hamza moved to Northampton where it was thought he would eventually study medicine like the rest of his family.
The 32-year-old, who is also known as CBeebies’ Ranger Hamza, told The Herald: “I planned to follow my family, who are all medics, into the profession.
“I felt pressure to do it, so I decided to be a dentist like my brother.
