Pep Guardiola could not confirm whether Erling Haaland would be fit for Manchester City’s clash with Leicester on Saturday afternoon, when speaking at a press conference on Friday.
The Norwegian was substituted at half-time during the goalless draw with Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday, due to a hat-trick of issues: tiredness, a fever and a foot problem.
Guardiola says that things have improved for the striker and he is training, but it is not clear whether he will face the Foxes in the 12.30pm kick-off at the King Power.
‘He feels better but we will train this afternoon and we will assess in a few hours,’ said the Spaniard. ‘We will see how he is feeling and then we will decide.’
On other injury concerns, including Joao Cancelo, he added: ‘Everyone had trained well. I have to wait until they come back (this afternoon) and see how they feel.’
