GP sacked for refusing to wear face mask in pandemic takes employers to tribunal

Unvaccinated Angela Mussom, 46, is fighting her dismissal from a GP surgery after patients complained she asked them to take off their masks and kept all windows closed

An unvaccinated doctor who refused to wear a face mask during the height of the pandemic is fighting her dismissal from a GP surgery.

Angela Mussom, 46, worked for two days as a GP at a surgery in Suffolk when several patients complained she told them to remove their masks and kept the windows shut.

She claimed she was unable to wear a mask at the surgery due to anxiety following an accident but said this was “none of the practice’s business”.

Musso is now taking the practice in Cutler’s Hill, Halesworth, to an employment tribunal, arguing her dismissal was discriminatory.
