A conference which aimed to highlight opposition to “cancel culture” has itself been cancelled after venue staff refused to work at the event, it has emerged.
Speakers at Education Not Indoctrination planned to claim that “woke ideology” is taking over schools and universities at the event at Civic House in Glasgow on Saturday.
It was forced to move to a new venue after the original hosts claimed that the topics they planned to discuss were offensive to LGBTQ staff members.
Those due to appear at the event included Dr Stuart Waiton, a sociology lecturer who campaigned against laws which criminalised the physical punishment of children and claimed it is “biologically impossible” for people to change sex, and Dr Frank Furedi, a sociologist and the
