Girl, 11, savaged by American XL Bully dog is ‘too scared to leave home’ after attack

Ana Paun’s arm and shoulder were mauled in incident in Birmingham, in which two men were also injured

An 11-year-old girl who was mauled by an American “XL Bully” dog has said that she is “too scared to leave home” after the attack on Saturday, as a former Cabinet minister called for new legislation to neuter and muzzle the “incredibly aggressive” breed.

Ana Paun was savaged by the dog in Bordesley Green, Birmingham, while she walked to the shops with her 18-year-old sister.

The dog clamped its jaw around her arm and then her shoulder before running off and attacking two men.

Suella Braverman, the Home Secretary, has backed calls to ban the violent breed in Britain following a spate of similar incidents.
