The 19th-century grade I listed castle in north Wales has received a £2.2 million heritage grant to save it from imminent collapse. That is one element of a new £4.1 million package of support for Welsh heritage announced by the National Heritage Memorial Fund as part of its Covid-19 response fund. The money will help to secure and benefit sites ranging from medieval churches to Britain’s only prime ministerial library.
