George, Charlotte and Louis’ future royal titles explained when Prince William is king

Youngsters George, 10, Charlotte, 8, and Louis, five, could be handed some very impressive roles if dad William decides to follow tradition when he becomes king

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and little Prince Louis could one day be in line for some very impressive titles when their dad William becomes king.

Prince William and wife Kate Middleton are currently the Prince and Princess of Wales, but will become king and queen consort one day, so it’s likely that their three children will also receive shiny new roles. But not all of them coincide with their father’s accession to the throne.

George, who recently turned 10, is currently second in the line of succession to the throne behind his dad. It’s possible that he will receive the title of duke when he gets married – although which dukedom he will get remains unclear.

The late Queen Elizabeth II handed duke titles on her grandsons Prince William and Prince Harry on their wedding days with Wills becoming the Duke of Cambridge and Harry Duke of Sussex. It’s thought that King Charles will follow this tradition for his grandchildren whenever they tie the knot.
