The Spanish Football Association are threatening legal action against Women’s World Cup winner Jenni Hermoso for insisting Luis Rubiales’ kiss was not consentual

Gary Lineker has labelled Luis Rubiales an “awful bloke” after the Spanish FA threatened legal action against Jenni Hermoso.

Disgraced president Rubiales is refusing to resign for controversially kissing Hermoso on the lips after Spain’s Women’s World Cup triumph last Sunday. Hermoso has admitted she didn’t consent to the kiss, with dozens of footballers coming out in support of her.

The Spanish FA are now willing to take legal action against Hermoso to defend Rubiales. The shocking threat has many people angered, including Lineker. The England legend believes the governing body’s deplorable behaviour is overshadowing Spain’s triumph.

Lineker was staggered after hearing about the Spanish FA’s threat on social media. He tweeted: “What??? Such a disgrace that one awful bloke has taken all the attention away from the Spanish women’s wonderful achievement. Shameful!”
