Evan Ferguson has been tipped to become Harry Kane’s replacement at Tottenham after scoring for Brighton in their opening day 4-1 victory over Luton on Saturday
Gary Lineker has urged Tottenham to go and sign Evan Ferguson from Brighton after losing Harry Kane to Bayern Munich in a record-breaking move.
Kane, 30, was unveiled as a Bayern player on Saturday morning after signing a four-year contract at the Allianz Arena. The German giants will pay Tottenham a fee of £86.4million plus add-ons for Kane, who could win a trophy on Saturday night as Bayern face RB Leipzig in the German Super Cup.
As for Spurs, Ange Postecoglou may now be on the lookout for a replacement despite signing 19-year-old Alejo Veliz from Rosario Central last month. Ex-Tottenham forward Lineker has backed Ferguson to come in and replace Kane in north London after scoring for Brighton against Luton on Saturday.
Lineker tweeted: “Evan Ferguson scores in Fergie time. He’s a born goalscorer. If I was in charge of recruitment at @SpursOfficial. I’d take a punt on him as Kane’s replacement. Apologies to @OfficialBHAFC fans.”
