Fury backed ‘to avoid’ Paul as Bamba makes ‘handpicking’ claim

Tommy Fury’s next opponent Paul Bamba believes TNT will avoid Jake Paul if ends up getting the win on Sunday night. The Puerto Rican light-heavyweight accused Fury of ‘handpicking’ his opponents and called his undefeated 8-0 record into question.Fury and Bamba square off in the co-feature attraction of the Floyd Mayweather vs Deji Olatunji event on November 13 at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. Paul is expected to be in attendance for the show and will be keeping an eye on Mayweather and Fury who are among his potential next opponents. The long-awaited grudge match between Paul and Fury has been an extremely frustrating proposition for influencer boxing fans with the clash falling through on two occasions previously. In December, their fight was called off after Fury was forced to pull out with a broken rib sustained in camp. Then, ahead of their August encounter, the bout agreement was terminated when TNT was denied entry to the United States – where the event was set to take place. The pair recently verbally agreed to attempt to make the fight a third time over video call and The Problem Child has also accepted Fury’s demand to stage the contest in the United Kingdom with the ex-Love Island star still unable to travel across the pond. If you look at his resume and you look at mine, his opponents are 24 wins and over 100 losses, if you take out the one guy, he fought that had over 100 losses, 14 wins and 76 losses. Mine are about 26,27 wins with about 50 losses.’I’ve faced better competition; I’ve done an eight-round fight with a vet that has fought for world titles I may not be known but I know how to box and Tommy’s going to find that out Sunday night.’MORE BOXING NEWS…Ruiz Jr lifts lid on private conversation with Joshua about trilogyJones Jr lifts lid on fresh Joshua conversations after coaching offerHatton open to Mayweather rematch after in-ring return against Barrera Paul Bamba faces Tommy Fury on Sunday (Image: YouTube: Pro Boxing Fans)Bamba and Fury nearly came to blows earlier this week when they came face to face after their press conference. Speaking about his keen dislike of the Brit, Bamba added: ‘I took offence that he downplayed me being a marine and defending my country.’He made fun of me for having a job which is really weird and said something about being a personal trainer. He also said he’s going to break my face. I’m not one to s*** talk but if it’s coming my way, I’m all for it, but I want him to know that I’m not something to be toyed with and I’m coming.’
