"Jeremiah was an outstanding young man who brought an incredible attitude and energy every day. We grieve with the Collins family for their tragic loss and lift them up in prayer." Tributes have also flooded in on social media, with people across college football describing him as a talented sportsman with a "bright future". Collins graduated from Oakland High School in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, last spring. His one season playing at Oakland saw him make a major contribution to the team, with the Patriots winning their third consecutive Class 6A state championship last year.
