Francis Ngannou’s coach explains pain from UFC heavweight’s “death touch” power

UFC heavyweight champion Ngannou has the hardest punch ever recorded and he often leaves his coach’s head ricocheting off pads due to his power

Francis Ngannou ‘s coach Eric Nicksick has admitted his head often “ricochets” off pads thanks to the heavyweight champion’s kicks.

UFC heavyweight champion Ngannou, 36, has the hardest punch ever recorded at 129,161 units, with Dana White famously likening his power to the speed of a Ford Escort car travelling at full speed. ‘The Predator’ hasn’t been able to show off his power since January as he was forced out of action for a year following his title defence against Ciryl Gane due to several knee injuries.

Ngannou moved his training camp from France to the US after losing to Derrick Lewis in 2018, falling out with former head coach Fernand Lopez. Under the tutelage of Nicksick and Dewey Cooper at Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas, the pair have guided him to six straight wins. Nicksick has admitted that holding pads for Ngannou is a scary experience, one that often leaves him in pain.
