Dementia is set to affect more than 150 million people by 2050, according to research published in the Lancet Public Health. While around 900,000 people are suffering from it in the UK today.
There are some medications and treatments that can help alleviate symptoms, meaning that the best chance against tackling dementia is early detection. An early diagnosis opens the door to future care and treatment, making symptom awareness front and centre.
