After just a year, Fortnite’s third chapter is already coming to a close, making it half as long as both of the previous chapters.
It’s difficult for Fortnite to really surprise people anymore. Whenever a new mechanic, change to the map, or crossover is announced, nine times out of 10 it had already leaked beforehand thanks to the game’s legion of dataminers.
However, it seems Epic Games has caught fans off guard with its recent announcement of the current season’s end date.
Not because the season is ending, though, but because it will also mark the beginning of Chapter 4, meaning Chapter 3 will have lasted just a single year and consisted of only four seasons of content.
This makes it far shorter than either of the previous chapters. Fortnite’s first chapter ran for two years – October 2017 to October 2019 – and featured 10 whole seasons.
