Richard Hammond says James May is ‘fine’ after nasty crash Former Top Gear host James May has slammed Jeremy Clarkson’s car collection and even hinted his former colleague had ‘no imagination’. The ex-TV host made the remarks when he was asked to comment on Clarkson’s personal vehicle collection. However, May didn’t appear impressed with the 63-year-old’s decisions as he slammed both houses Land Rover and Alfa Romeo. But, May still had time to make a few remarks aimed at his friend in a hilarious video for social media. Speaking to DRIVETRIBE, May said: ‘Jeremy Clarkson and the Alfa Romeo GTV6. This is the one we used on the special in Scotland. James May has attacked Jeremy Clarkson’s car collection ‘Lovely engine but they don’t work. They didn’t work when they were new and they don’t work now. ‘He’s standing in a very odd way in that picture but I’m not here to roast him. I think the GTV6 is not as good-looking as people make out. It looks slightly bent and slightly pinched… I don’t particularly want an Alfa Romeo GTV6.’ Clarkson fell in love with the GTV6 after buying the model for an episode of The Grand Tour. The car featured on the episode ‘Well Aged Scotch’ where the trio head to Inverness with a range of inexpensive Italian classics. More info Clarkson confirmed he had kept the machine after a keen fan asked if he had really given the GTV6 a home shortly after the film aired in 2019. The host uploaded an image of the Alfa Romeo on his driveway and added the caption: ‘Here it is with new wheels and edges at my house.’ However, May wasn’t done there as he took aim at Clarkson’s personal Range Rover. He explained: ‘Oh there’s Jeremy Clarkson again on his farm. ‘Range Rover L322. I hope he didn’t describe this as the L322 because that’s an internal factory model designation which is something we don’t do on the Grand Tour. What can I say about Range Rover. See I’d have a Land Cruiser just to be b****y-minded.’ May then issued a thinly-veiled dig at Clarkson as he pulled out a remark apparently once used against him. He added: ‘A green Range Rover in a field. This man once accused me of having no imagination.’ Trending
