According to LinkedIn, in February 2021 the new Baroness started work as a special advisor for Mr Johnson in No10. She stayed in Downing Street until October 2022, by which time Liz Truss had began her brief stint as PM. Baroness Owen was one of 38 Brits included in Boris' resignation honours list. The list caused a stir in Westminster as it was packed full of the former PM's closest allies. Alongside Baroness Owen, Ross Kempsall, a 31-year-old aide to Mr Johnson, was also given a peerage. Ex-ministers Simon Clarke and Jacob Rees-Mogg were knighted, while Priti Patel was made a dame. This final honours list was signed off by current PM Rishi Sunak. Deputy Labour Leader Angela Rayner slammed him for approving the list, which she described as "shameful".
