Food charity warns of winter crisis with ‘queues of hundreds common’

NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT

A food redistribution charity is looking to the winter with ‘horror’ as hundreds of organisations wait on its books for supplies.

The Felix Project, which delivers surplus produce across 1,000 community partners in London, gave a bleak outlook for the cold months ahead as the cost of living crisis intensifies.

Schools and foodbanks have joined its waiting list as energy bills, food price inflation and the shrinking economy create what it called a ‘perfect storm’.

The Trussell Trust said last week that foodbanks in its national network had experienced a record period between April and September this year.
