Flight attendants really have seen it all – and now one has revealed the funny way he dealt with a passenger who was pretending to be vegetarian for a ‘better meal’
It’s no secret that some people will do anything for an upgrade. Whether they pretend it’s their birthday or honeymoon, or even fake injuries, flight attendants have heard it all from their passengers.
And now one member of the cabin crew has revealed how one member of the public tried to switch up their inflight meal – and his hilarious response to the demand. The passenger in question was seated in economy in the second to last row and as the food was handed out he requested the pasta option.
Unfortunately, due to popular demand, the dish had run out and so the flight attendant instead offered the chicken option. At that point, the passenger stated he was actually a vegetarian, adding that the last time he had flown he had been given a meal from business class, so he would just wait for that. It was then that the crew member became suspicious – not least because he was certain he had earlier cleared a packet of smoky bacon crisps from the passenger’s tray.
He also stated that he would normally have offered to find a replacement meal as a nicety, but the way the man had just assumed this additional service didn’t sit right with him. The attendant further noted that regular fliers know that they need to preorder the veggie option because they often run out.
