Family of Murdaugh boat crash victim given $15M in wrongful death settlement

NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT

The family of Mallory Beach have received a $15 million (around £11.5m) settlement for her 2019 boat crash death.

Solicitors say that the £11.5 settlement came from the convenience store – Parker’s Corporation – that reportedly sold alcohol to boat driver Paul Murdaugh, also 19 at the time.

The beverages were allegedly purchased using his mother Maggie Murdaugh’s credit card and brother Buster Murdaugh’s ID. His blood alcohol level was later found to be three times the legal limit.

The Murdaugh boat, which was carrying five passengers, crashed into a bridge support at around 2 am on a February evening in South Carolina. Beach went overboard, and her body was found eight days later.
