Fabian Edwards reveals title plan and warns Conor McGregor over Leon Edwards

NEWS… BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW IT

Fabian Edwards believes he will take on Gegard Mousasi before challenging for the Bellator middleweight title in 2023, insisting a fight against Conor McGregor would be ‘easy money’ for his brother Leon.

The middleweight star took a huge stride towards world title gold with a career-best win over MMA legend Lyoto Machida in May, returning to the cage to outclass Charlie Ward at Bellator 287 in Milan on Saturday.

That meeting with the veteran Dubliner called for a polished, professional performance – a fight to ‘stay active’ with Edwards hopeful Bellator will deliver on promises made to him next year.

Johnny Eblen currently sits top of the middleweight pile, taking the title from Mousasi with a magnificent performance last June. The Dutchman remains firmly in the title picture with Edwards anticipating they will be paired up early next year, having heard suggestions that no4 ranked Anatoly Tokov will get a crack at the champion first.
