A Formula 1 worker died working on the Las Vegas Grand Prix track in the lead up to the inaugural Nevada race.
The man was working at the world famous Bellagio fountains on the Las Vegas Strip on Saturday when police were called to the scene at 11.30am. The worker had suffered a “major laceration to the neck” and was transported to hospital where he was sadly pronounced dead.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration will reportedly be in charge of an investigation into the tragedy. A police spokesperson confirmed to ABC News the worker was involved in the setup for the Las Vegas Grand Prix, which is occurring on the Strip from Nov. 16 to 18.
The Vegas Grand Prix circuit is set to wind its way through downtown, passing all the major landmarks – including the likes of Caesars Palace, the Bellagio, the Venetian, and The Sphere.
