However, the Alpine driver took exception to the way his rival had passed them, feeling he was squeezed off the track somewhat as the pair approached copse corner at a speed close to 180mph. On the team radio, the Frenchman shouted: 'He can't push me like that! F***, he didn't give me any space!' And post-race in the paddock, Gasly confronted Sainz while he was being interviewed by the Spanish media, pushing him on the shoulder as he walked past and warning him: 'Don't push me like that.' A visibly confused Sainz simply grinned at the cameras and said: 'Huh? Poor thing.' The pair had recently had a coming together during qualifying in Canada, with Sainz impeding the Alpine star who did not mince his words in the aftermath.
