Brighton are second-from-bottom in the WSL after being thrashed by Tottenham
Brighton & Hove Albion are considering manager Hope Powell’s position, Telegraph Sport understands, following Sunday’s heavy 8-0 thrashing at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur.
The former England manager side were left second-from-bottom of the WSL table after that result, with just three points from their opening five matches of the league campaign. Powell’s side have won just one of their past 10 matches in all competitions stretching back to last season, losing eight of those.
According to multiple sources, talks have been taking place amongst the club’s board on Monday to consider Powell’s position, leaving her future in serious doubt.
The 55-year-old has been in charge since 2017 and is the third-longest-serving manager in the WSL, after Reading manager Kelly Chambers and Chelsea’s Emma Hayes.
