As the second series of the Sex and the City sequel draws to a close, here are the style takeaways from Carrie Bradshaw and friends
On August 24 the second series of Sex and the City sequel, And Just Like That…, will reach its conclusion.
The fashion has been as wayward as the plot; the wardrobe highs have spanned Valentino Met Gala looks and real Birkin bag thefts, while Lisa Todd Wexley’s purple spandex and Miranda’s tragic bucket hat stand high on the list of the lows.
Arguably, the sartorial erraticism has made the whole thing even more compelling to watch. Now a 50-something Manhattanite, Carrie’s midlife wardrobe is full of glamour, and crucially, talking points. Is it OK to rewear your jilted wedding dress, a year after your husband died on his Peloton? Are dressing-gown coats ever a good idea? What type of dress code really does warrant a pigeon as a handbag?
These are the questions costume designers Molly Rogers and Danny Santiago want us all to be pondering when we get dressed in the morning.
