Long-awaited comebacks are synonymous with rock music.
Whether Pulp’s return to the stage this summer for the first time in a decade or – further back – three original members of Pink Floyd reuniting in 2007, they are usually greeted with excitement and ecstasy.
However, the return of legendary music magazine NME has not been met with such joy, after fans complained that the new magazine, its first print run in five years, was nearly impossible to get hold of.
The last free copy was published in March 2018 after its bosses cited rising production costs and a “tough” advertising market, meaning it became another big music magazine to be axed.
