Because all of the above have made a new list of the top quirky attractions and experiences in Europe – all of them a little bit different from your average holiday fare. The list, from Easyjet, was compiled from a longlist chosen by a panel of experts – with such offbeat spectacles as goat yoga, Finland's Wife Carrying Championship and traditional Turkish oil wrestling also making the top 25. 'We hope that this list surprises people and inspires them to try something or somewhere new, said Antonio Shabbir, EasyJet's customer Experience Director. 'Whether that's exploring more of the places they love or visiting a new destination and its unique experiences for the first time, we encourage would-be travellers to get out there and do it.' The annual ritual, which takes place in the French town of Bessieres on the first Monday after Easter, commemorates the story of Napoleon and his army spending a night there and feasting on a giant omelette cooked by them for a local innkeeper. The omelette, which features 15,000 eggs, is cooked by a team of volunteers in a giant pan in the town square, before being divided up among the locals.
