He said he didn't notice the construction pit in front of him until he was already falling. The Euphoria star said he woke up 12 hours later at the bottom of the pit. "I was trapped. I eventually climbed out after, I don't know how long. It was hella hard to climb out, because my skull was broken, but my skin wasn't, so all the bleeding was internal, pressing up against my brain," he revealed. Angus explained he was determined to make his own way out of the pit after realising "they wasn't gonna find me down there". He managed to pull himself out despite having broken fingers and the ditch being 10 feet deep. The actor said he was "in survival mode". After he escaped, his vision was blurry but he managed to take the bus to his mother's house. Angus said his mother initially thought he was on drugs because his pupils were dilated. Instead of letting him go to bed, she rushed him to the hospital. Speaking to Variety, Angus explained: "I would have died. She gave me some water, and I started throwing up hella mouthfuls of crimson red blood. S**t was crazy. So then my mama took me to the children's hospital." He spent five days in an intensive care unit before being moved to a non-intensive care unit. The actor credited the hospital's doctors with saving his life.
