Hojlund, 20, is now Ten Hag's main target but the Serie A club are seeking around £86m for the Denmark international. United value him at closer to £50m and reports suggest Mason Greenwood could move in the opposite direction – on loan – to talk the Italians down from their asking price. The club feel Hojlund could develope into a world class centre forward and he's already earned comparisons with Erling Haaland for his style of play. It's therefore claimed that, even in the event of signing Hojlund, Ten Hag would ideally like to sign a second striker. While Hojlund is considered a centre forward, Ten Hag wants a forward that can play across the front. Marcus Rashford excelled in a left-wing role last season but he sometimes played through the middle, while Anthony Martial can play in both roles. Alejandro Garnacho and Jadon Sancho can play on both wings, while Bruno Fernandes sometimes played from the right.
