In his blistering memoir, Spare, the 38-year-old made several claims against The Royal Family, including allegations of being cut off financially by his dad, the then Prince Charles and being made to pay for his own lifestyle after fleeing the UK for a new life in California, as well as finding out his grandmother the late Queen Elizabeth died after seeing it online. Writing in his memoir, he heartbreakingly penned: "When the plane started to descend I saw that my phone lit up. It was a message from Meg: 'Call me when you get this.' I looked at the BBC website. My grandmother had died. My father was King." He also claimed that His Majesty was distasteful when he told Harry that Meghan was not allowed to fly to Balmoral when the late Queen's health declined.
