A huge 7.5 magnitude earthquake has struck the Pacific Ocean, prompting a tsunami warning.
The tremor rocked the sea around 130 miles south-east of Tonga, with Tsunami warnings have been issued for American Samoa, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center (PTWC).
Tsunami waves from the earthquake were possible within 300 km of the epicenter along the coasts of Niue and Tonga, it added.
The quake was at a depth of 10 km, the USGS said, though elsewhere it had been reported as being at a depth of 24km.
