Lauren's older brother is professional footballer Reece James who plays as right back for Chelsea and England. The pair have previously made history as the first brother and sister to play for England. The siblings also share an older brother Joshua, who is on the other side of the game and is said to do the books for Fulham and Reading. The three were often found kicking a ball against a wall near their home as children, or down the park honing their skills, and credit for their love of football could go to their father, Nigel, who also had dreams of playing professionally. Nigel's ambitions were shattered after stints at Luton Town and Southampton as he was injured in a motorbike accident. However, he's found other ways to stay involved in the sport and now works as a UEFA-licensed football coach, setting up the Nigel James Elite Coaching programme.
