After starring with the bat for England during the Ashes, Jonny Bairstow could own part of a Classic contender after Indian Run’s success at York
England cricket star Jonny Bairstow scored his biggest win on the racetrack when his horse won at York on Wednesday.
The batsman-wicket keeper, part of England’s Ashes team, could also be involved in one of the most exciting two-year-olds in the country after Indian Run won the Tattersalls Acomb Stakes.
He is a member of the Bronte Collection syndicate, set up by leading owner Steve Parkin, and the Eve Johnson Houghton-trained Indian Run could be heading to the Dewhurst Stakes next, Europe’s premier race for juveniles, which was won by 2,000 Guineas winner Chaldean last year.
Bairstow, who has strong York connections, was delighted to witness his horse show such promise.
