 Ryan Stocks (James Moore) got a huge shock in Friday's (September 22) episode of Emmerdale as girlfriend Gail (Rachael Gill-Davis) confirmed that their son is seriously unwell in hospital. Last night, Gail met up with a lady called Sophie (Martha Cope) in the allotments. Their conversation allowed us to learn Gail and Ryan's son, Oscar, is in hospital with cancer and that Sophie is his adoptive mother. Gail spoke to Sophie about doing a test to see if she's a match for the stem cell treatment Oscar needs. She confirmed she was happy to do it but when Sophie put forward the idea of contacting Oscar's dad, Gail failed to tell her that she was in a relationship with him again. Back in the village after taking the test, Gail rushed off from Sophie in tears which was spotted by Marlon (Mark Charnock). Marlon found Gail and listened as she opened up about Oscar. She revealed that her and Ryan were friends with benefits which resulted in the pregnancy, with them reaching the conclusion it would be better to put Oscar up for adoption as they were so young, and another couple could offer him a better life. A panicked and tearful Gail was shocked when Ryan refused to look at a picture of their son. He believed that they are not Oscar's parents and was incredibly hurt that Gail had kept the truth from him.
