 Evil rapist Craig Reed (Ben Addis) remained unable accept that he has committed a serious crime in Emmerdale, as he continued to insist that the sex he had forced upon Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) was consensual. As Craig sat around the Dingle dinner table chatting away to an oblivious Sam (James Hooton), Lydia became overwhelmed, and made excuses to rush out for air. However, she still couldn't escape sick Craig, who followed her outside. Lydia was distraught as she insisted that she didn't want Craig in her house with her family, but Craig remained eerily calm as he urged her not to feel guilty about what had happened between them. Refusing to take accountability for raping her, Craig told Lydia that it was what they had both wanted, and all the signs were there. He went on to confess that he had feelings for her, and was over the moon to have her back in his life, insisting that the fact they had met up again proved that fate wanted them to be together. Terrified that she may never be free of Craig, Lydia bravely headed to the police station to report her rapist. In the interview room, Lydia broke down, blaming herself for what had happened and fearing what this would do to her family if they found out. As a call from Sam came through on her phone, Lydia changed her mind about reporting Craig, and headed home to be with her family.
