Elon Musk’s dad Errol fears his son ‘might be assassinated’

Elon Musk’s dad worries he could be assassinated (Image: Getty) Elon Musk’s dad Errol fears the billionaire “could be assassinated” for going up against the United States government. Retired electromechanical engineer Errol, 77, says he has serious concerns for the safety of the world’s richest man – his firstborn son. It comes as Elon, 52, has been weathing legal attacks from the Department of Justice (DoJ). In July, President Joe Biden suggested there are “a lot of ways” of investigating the tech billionaire. Musk himself has previously joked he would die in “mysterious circumstances”. Now, speaking to The US Sun , Errol says both he and his son are worried about what could happen to the tycoon. Reacting to a recent New Yorker piece by journalist Ronan Farrow titled ‘ Elon Musk ‘s Shadow Rule,’ Errol said: ‘It’s a hit job, a shadow government-sponsored opening salvo on Elon. Errol Musk (Image: Getty) ‘The artillery-like softening up of the enemy before the actual attack and preparing of the ever-submissive people for the attack.’ When asked if he feels the “shadow government” could try and kill his son, Errol said “yes”. He had previously said he thinks his son needed to beef up his security. The article in the New Yorker claimed Musk’s influence is “more brazen and expansive’ than billionaire’s before him. It was also published just days before the Department of Justice sued Musk’s SpaceX for allegedly discriminating against asylum recipients and refugees in hiring. It has since emerged federal prosecutors are probing Tesla’s alleged use of company funds to build Musk’s Texas mansion. And President Biden had previously suggested the White House could probe Musk’s purchase of Twitter, which he rebranded as X, with the help of a Saudi Arabian conglomerate. He said: ” Elon Musk ‘s cooperation and/or technical relationships with other countries is worthy of being looked at. “Whether or not he is doing anything inappropriate, I’m not suggesting that. I’m suggesting they’re worth being looked at and that’s all I’ll say. There’s a lot of ways.’ Elon Musk meanwhile has enraged critics since taking control of X. He has been accused of allowing a rise in hate speech and disinformation on the platform. Supporters however say this is encouraging the freedom of speech. In response to criticism, X recently said: “We’re currently expanding our safety and elections teams to focus on combating manipulation, surfacing inauthentic accounts and closely monitoring the platform for emerging threats. ‘Our work is ongoing. These increased investments in people, policy and product will further ensure our communities have access to open, accurate and safe political discourse on X.’ Elon recently joked he could be assassinated after former Russian space agency boss Dmitry Rogozin made a veiled threat over the South African supplying his Starlink satellite internet service to Ukraine in May last year. Muskhowever appeared more serious when he said in December that there is ‘definitely some risk’ that he could be taken out. Speaking to a chat on Twitter Spaces, he said: “Frankly, the risk of something bad happening to me, or even literally being shot, is quite significant. “It’s not that hard to kill somebody if you wanted to, so hopefully they don’t, and fate smiles upon the situation with me, and it does not happen.’ Errol insists his son is however a force for good.
