Elon Musk lays bare plans to ‘find somebody else to run’ Twitter

Elon Musk claimed that he plans to ‘find someone else to run’ Twitter during his testimony in a court case over his £47billion ($56bn) pay package at Tesla, a news report has claimed. Mr Musk, who took over the charge of Twitter recently, also said that he doesn’t want to be a Chief executive, a statement that comes after his recent email to Twitter employees asking them to work hard as he plans to revamp the social media website.On Wednesday, the billionaire boss of Tesla, who also runs rocket company SpaceX and Twitter, appeared in court in Delaware as part of a case brought by a disgruntled Tesla shareholder.Tesla shareholder and heavy metal drummer Richard Tornetta has sued Mr Musk and the board, claiming Mr Musk used his dominance over Tesla’s board to dictate terms of the package, which did not require him to work at Tesla full-time and came as he was running several other companies.Mr Musk said the electric car maker was in ‘crisis’ in 2017 and he gave it his full attention.He said: ‘I was entirely focused on the execution of the company.’ Elon Musk laid bare his plans to ‘find somebody else to run’ at Twitter (Image: Getty Images) Mr Musk recently took over the charge of Twitter (Image: Getty Images)Mr Musk pushed back against suggestions the goals were too easy, saying the electric car maker was on the brink of bankruptcy in 2017 when the package was drawn up as it struggled to ramp up production of its Model 3 saloons.On the stand, Mr Musk said it was ‘extremely unlikely’ that Tesla would succeed when the bonus was drawn up.He told the court Tesla’s purpose was ‘to help expedite the move from a mine-and-burn hydrocarbon economy towards a solar electric economy.’He added: ‘I did not want to be CEO.
