Edinburgh resident with banned pink door faces new paint complaint

An Edinburgh resident who was ordered to repaint her bright pink door is facing a fresh council investigation over her latest colour choice.

Miranda Dickson, 48, redecorated her door an “off-white” after she was threatened with a £20,000 fine for her “Pepto-Bismol” pink front door last year.

The owner of the Georgian home in New Town repainted her door green while waiting for planning permission, which was denied, before she repainted it again in “off-white”. But Edinburgh council has received a new complaint that the door has been repainted pink again.

Dickson told BBC Scotland: “I am speechless that someone has complained about this colour – as far as I was concerned this chapter in my life was closed. I’m shocked and distraught about it.
