The former Labour leader appeared on the comedian’s YouTube channel during the 2015 election campaign
Ed Miliband made a “terrible decision” by agreeing to an interview with Russell Brand during the 2015 election campaign, a former Labour adviser has said.
Mr Miliband, who was Labour leader at the time and is now Sir Keir Starmer’s shadow climate change and net zero secretary, appeared on Brand’s YouTube series The Trews.
Brand, 48, is facing accusations of rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse over a seven-year period during the height of his fame. Police are also investigating an allegation he sexually assaulted a woman in central London 20 years ago.
The comedian, whose UK tour has been postponed, has vehemently denied the “very, very serious criminal allegations”, insisting that all his sexual relationships have been consensual.
