 The Taylor family are set to lose their matriarch later this year, with it being confirmed that Lorraine Stanley is leaving her role of Karen Taylor after seven eventful years. Bosses have opted to write out the character, who has been central to the community of Albert Square, often in very chaotic fashion. She has managed to get many backs up but, across her years, she has built friendships too. And, one thing that can't be argued is her protective nature for her family. So, this begs the question – if the rest of the Taylors and Bakers are staying put, what could possibly tear Karen away from them? Of course, there are likely to be many developments between now and a goodbye which would make a decision to walk away from Albert Square more likely. However, one thing that would propel those left behind into new and dramatic storylines would be for a tragic death in the mix. With Keanu (Danny Walters) constantly in chaos, losing his mum would be a tipping edge point. And Bernie (Clair Norris) is really finding her place with a new job and an upcoming friendship group – so having everything turned on its head in such a spectacular fashion would propel her to the front of the emotional action.
