 EastEnders star Shona McGarty is reportedly in talks for Dancing On Ice following the announcement that she will be leaving the BBC soap. Shona, who has played Whitney Dean for the last 15 years, is set to bow out of Walford in the coming months, but she may be headed straight onto the ice for the ITV skating competition. During her time on the Square, Whitney has suffered plenty of heartache, and been at the centre of some of the most hard-hitting storylines of all time. Whitney burst onto our screens in 2008 as the adoptive daughter of Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer). She was sexually abused by Bianca's fiancé, and proceeded to kill her own stalker, get married once, and engaged three times. In 2016, one of her major stories came as she suffered a miscarriage and, more recently, her unborn baby was diagnosed with the life-limiting condition, Edwards syndrome. After dealing with such heavy topics, Shona may be set to swap scripts for a pair of skates, as a source has revealed to The Sun that 'she is on ITV's wish-list' for the new series of Dancing On Ice. 'She is a huge talent and a very well-known name – and to walk off EastEnders and straight onto their rival channel's biggest show would be a huge coup,' the source revealed. 'A number of stars who are being courted for the next series are already practising on their local rinks to make sure they have the basics down.
