 EastEnders has introduced an important new prop to the set, as part of the BBC's Let it Grow initiative, with Radio 2 DJ Jo Whiley paying them a visit to help Walford bloom. The aim of the initiative is to inspire people to turn grey spaces into wild and colourful places through planting seeds and helping them grow, with everyone encouraged to get involved no matter how big or small their space, or what experience they have had with planting. Jo Whiley headed to Albert Square with a specially planted pair of bright pink boots to brighten up the set. As part of her visit, Jo got to tour the famous lot, and learnt all about the efforts EastEnders has gone to to be more sustainable and nature-friendly. The pink boots, which have become home to a vibrant verbena, will appear on screen in the near future, and are something for fans to keep an eye out for.
