Eamonn Holmes feeling ‘helpless’ as he shares heartbreaking health update with fans

TV presenter Eamon Holmes has revealed the real status of his health following an extensive recovery plan after he ‘lost full mobility’ which left hom feeling ‘helpless’

TV presenter Eamon Holmes has had a rather tough time of it of late when it comes to his health.

But now, the former This Morning host, 63, has revealed that he is slowly on the mend after a nasty fall left him needing spinal surgery. In a recent interview the charismatic presenter said that he can now walk, albeit 50 steps, but this is a positive change of events, after he said he’d “lost full mobility.” Eamon, who is married to Loose Women presenter Ruth Langsford said that he has learned to accept help from others which has left him feeling “helpless” at times.

When asked by Best Magazine how he felt knowing that he required help from family and friends, he replied; “Humble, helpless but grateful. However, it’s truly draining when you have to say, ‘do you mind? Could you…? Thank you, I’m sorry.’ The good news is the op last year cured me of my back pain…I lost full mobility. I’m doing everything I can to get better. But it’s slow.”

Back in January this year, Eamon took to social media to post a video on the status of his health. Having been off work for a few months he told fans: “You may or may not be aware of what happened to me. I got some back surgery, I’ve had disc problems for a year and a half or so, and then got some back surgery, which affected one of my legs, which led to me falling downstairs, led to me breaking my shoulder. So I had a leg that didn’t work and a shoulder that didn’t work, and lots of other things in between.”
