 A long-running TV series presented by Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford has been cancelled. First hitting screens in 2015, documentary series Eamonn & Ruth: How the Other Half Lives followed the couple as they travelled around the world to meet with the ultra-wealthy and discover what it's like to live as life of luxury. Over the course of the five seasons, they travelled to destinations like Dubai, New York, Monte Carlo, Vegas and Lake Como in Italy. However, after the last season aired in 2019, the show has now been cut after facing the pressures of the pandemic and ongoing cost-of-living crisis. 'Sadly, the series fell victim to the pandemic – it was just impossible to get across the world to meet very rich people – and there are no plans to revive the series now,' Eamonn said when announcing the news. 'But I do feel privileged to have been a part of it and to have met people in parts of the world that are no longer accessible. The series saw Eamonn and Ruth, both 63, undertake activities like sipping on the world's most expensive cocktail, visiting a £20m Regents Park apartment in London and even using a £100,000 hand-engraved shotgun to shoot clay pigeons. Eamonn even got the chance to fly in a Russian billionaire's private jet at one point. In 2016 a special titled A Million Pound Christmas also saw them given £1million to spend during the festive period. When launching the series, Ruth explained how they were shocked to see the levels of wealth some people lived with.
