Career Mode is another fan-favourite mode that has fallen victim to the success of Ultimate Team in recent FIFA titles
Ultimate Team is clearly the priority for EA Sports, but the success of FUT is having a major impact on the progression of other popular modes.
FIFA 23 will be the final instalment in EA Sports’ popular FIFA game franchise, with the publisher moving forward with a new game series, EA Sports FC. The first of the series will be EA FC 24, with plenty of new details about the new game emerging in the last few days. Announcements regarding the game modes available in EA FC 24 appear imminent if the release schedule is similar to FIFA 23’s, and away from Ultimate Team, there hasn’t been much ground breaking innovation in other FIFA game modes over the last few years.
Pro Clubs has fallen victim to the popularity of Ultimate Team, and whilst EA still makes changes to Career Mode each year, the impact of these changes is low. Apart from a new-look menu and other new additions to the menus, such as different ways to simulate a game and player training (which is a fantastic idea that has fallen flat in practice), there hasn’t been a huge update to Career Mode in recent years, or at least one that has given fans a reason to be excited.
With EA FC 24 the first game in the new series, the publisher has the chance to push off on its strong foot and establish the game as the best on the market. But to do so, EA must try its best to give the fans what they want, and that includes more than just Ultimate Team. These are some changes that we want to see made to Career Mode in EA FC 24.
