Players on the DP World Tour will be paid a minimum $150,000 (£133,000) if they commit to 15 tournaments in the 2023 season.
The financial support is part of the European tour’s strategic alliance with the PGA Tour and will answer some of the criticism that it has handed too much control to the Americans.
Next season, there will also be a record prize fund of $144.2 million for tournaments excluding the majors and the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play. It means the money on offer has risen by close to $30 million in five years.
The eye-catching initiative, though, is the Earnings Assurance Programme, which guarantees a base level of income to players. Keith Pelley, the DP World Tour chief executive, said: “Although we will
