The MP was removed from the COP27 conference (Image: GETTY)Sanaa Seif, the sister of British-Egyptian national Alaa-Abdel Fattah was speaking at an event when MP Amr Darwish began heckling her. Ms Seif was calling for her brother’s release, who activists fear may only live for a few more days due to being on a food and water strike. Ms Seif told reporters she has asked Egyptian authorities for proof her brother is ‘alive and conscious’ but is yet to receive a response. As Ms Seif was speaking, the MP questioned why the family describes Mr Fattah as a political prisoner and when she responded, Mr Darwish refused to let her speak and was removed by UN security officials. While being escorted away, he said: ‘You are here on Egyptian land, don’t touch me.’ Mr Fattah has been imprisoned for allegedly spreading fake news after sharing a Facebook post highlighting human rights abuses in Egyptian jails.FOLLOW BELOW FOR LIVE UPDATES… 33 mins ago07:47 Aliss HighamGood morning from London.
